50 Simple Ways to Make Your Visiting Teaching POP!

50 balloons were hung around Sister Rogers' yard, each one containing a VT idea from below on a piece of paper inside the blown-up balloon.  Sisters were invited to "pop" a balloon and then read aloud what was on their paper.

1 - Smile and go out of your way to say “hi” at church.
2 - Give her a hug.
3 - Remember her birthday and other holidays.
4 - Give her a phone call to just chat.
5 - Send an email.
6  - Show interest in her children.
7 - Show interest in the things that are important to her.
8 - Talk to her about her likes and hobbies.
9 - Attend something she is involved in.
10 - Invite her and her family to your house for dinner or FHE.
11 - Take her to breakfast or lunch.
12 - Take a freezer meal to her.
13 - Go for a walk or jog together.
14 - Help her with yard work (planned or unplanned).
15 - Take out her garbage cans the night before trash pick-up.
16 - Make extra goodies when you bake and take her a plate.
17 - Plan to go grocery shopping on the same day.
18 - Offer to pick something up at the grocery store when you go.
19 - Ask her for advice with something she is good at.
20 - Share your favorite recipes with her.
21 - Support her kids’ activities.
22 - Offer to help her with plants/pets/garbage cans/mail while she is on vacation.
23 - Watch her children while she is running errands.
24 - Offer to take children for her to have an evening out with her husband.
25 - Work on gardening plans together.
26 - Plan a craft day with her and possibly other sisters.
27 - Plan a game night.
28 - Make time to talk to her and get to know her.
29 - Do/learn family history together.
30 - Invite her to join you at the Humanitarian project day.
31 - Share a Mormon Message or other inspiring video with her via email.
32 - Send her a cute Instagram text message.
33 - Grab an extra jar/pkg of a storage item (TP, jam, salsa, etc.) if you see it on sale.
34 - Take her a General Conference goody basket.
35 - Take her some fresh veggies from your garden.
36 - Make sure she has carpooling arranged for the school year.
37 - Sit with her in Relief Society or Weekday activities.
38 - Pray for her and her family.
39 - Take a scripture or thought on a pretty piece of cardstock.
40 - things she tells you in confidence, a secret.
41 - Tell her she is incredible, because she is!
42 - Rave about her behind her back; tell others about her good qualities.
43 - Live in such a way that the Holy Ghost can prompt you.
44 - Remember her on Fast Sunday.
45 - If she’s worried about a messy house, just meet outside and don’t insist you go in.
46 - Offer to help with laundry and ironing.
47 - Arrange a play date with all the sisters you visit for mom and/or kids.  Play is for all ages J
48 - Be a shoulder to cry on.
49 - Work on food storage planning together.
50 - Write your own visiting teacher a note of appreciation.
